Yesterday I met a senior leader and he told me the migration projects (code moving from one language/technology to other) are done with the help of AI now. The accuracy level of the final code is more than 70% and then remaining of the work can be done by developer!
In the previous world, if it took 10 developers to do this project then now it takes just 2.
Customer service was the most obvious target. Most of the issues and their resolution is already sitting in your ticket tracking system.
In the previous world you would train your support personnel to dig through those tickets for a possible resolution and you would rely on his/her intelligence/memory.
BUT now AI is doing that.
Due to current uncertain market environment, businesses all over the world are forced to improve their bottom line that is to reduce their expenses to maintain their margins and AI is a tool to achieve that.
I wish I could end this post on a positive note but unfortunately year 2024 will continue to see more AI adoption and will cause job losses.

A friend asked for advice regarding a recent post; this post is the answer to that.
Old age begins with the legs.
It needs to be delayed.
If you follow sound health principles, old age need not truly set in until after the age of eighty.
You should walk briskly for at least forty minutes every day.
Walking is like pushing old age back by twenty years.
Some people suffer from joint pain.
Because of this, they are unable to walk.
They end up sitting all day long.
Sitting throughout the day can seriously affect your health.
One of the important factors associated with joint discomfort is the reduction of fluid within the joints.
This fluid is called synovial fluid.
Its quantity can decrease with age.
To help maintain adequate hydration...
You must drink enough water. Speaking continuously for 90 minutes can result in significant fluid loss from the body. Imagine speaking for that long without drinking even a drop of water-and what if such speeches are part of your daily routine? Good heavens!
You may not feel thirsty while sitting in an air-conditioned hall, but drinking enough water is still important.
Men may need around four liters of water a day, while women may need around three liters, depending on their body size, activity level, climate, and health conditions. Even those who do not give speeches should pay attention to adequate hydration.
You should also consume foods rich in Omega-3 fatty acids. For example, you can include five soaked walnuts in your daily diet.
A type of Tumma (acacia) plant that grows naturally in the deserts of the Gulf region is dried and sold as Gond (edible gum). Buy it and break it into five small pieces. If you soak them in water overnight, they will soften or dissolve by morning. You can drink the soaked mixture in the morning. Similarly, if you soak chia seeds in a glass of water overnight, they will become hydrated by morning; you can drink that mixture as well.
Salt intake should be reduced in your diet.
I am not saying that you should stop eating salt altogether. However, you can freely include foods such as cucumbers (kheera) that do not require additional salt. This can help you reduce your overall sodium intake.
Muscle strength declines with age; therefore, the importance of adequate protein increases.
A general guideline for healthy adults is around one gram of protein per kilogram of body weight per day, although individual needs can vary.
For vegetarians, good sources of protein include paneer, black chickpeas, urad dal, toor dal, and mushrooms.
These should be included generously as part of a balanced diet, while maintaining an appropriate overall balance of carbohydrates, protein, vegetables, and other nutrients.
He is a great blessing to the Telugu people.
He continues to share invaluable messages without asking for a single rupee.
This was the first time I had seen him in person.
When I saw him, I thought, "He must be around this age."
But if I had known his actual age, I would have thought he was twenty years younger.
At his age, he should not have aged this much.
His health should not have deteriorated to this extent.
He needs to adopt some dietary guidelines and establish a few healthy routines.
It is not too late even now.
But...
Who would have had the courage to tell him?
Who would dare to offer advice to someone of such stature?
Just as Shankarabharanam Shankara Sastry is a Padma Vibhushan, so is Ramalingaiah.
After giving it considerable thought, I sent a few important suggestions to this Padma Vibhushan.
Those suggestions need to reach the old man.
He has to follow them.
Telugu people... at the very least, we should be able to listen to his valuable words for another ten years.
May good things happen to everyone.

Hi Mr. Amarnath Sir,
Sorry for the late message. I wanted to convey my feelings about our Annual Day function at the Ameerpet branch, so please bear with me for a moment, Sir.
Honestly, Sir, how do you have so much courage and confidence? Calling all the parents and keeping us engaged for nearly four hours—literally four hours! You made us sit quietly and patiently, and you conducted the session so beautifully.
I enrolled my daughter in our school only this year. I was genuinely surprised to see the change in her behaviour, concentration, and the respect and disciplined attitude she has developed towards the school and teachers.
In today's world, where education has largely become commercialized—where the focus is often on collecting fees and completing the syllabus rather than understanding how much the child has actually learned—I used to wonder how you were able to personally connect with every student among so many children.
What impressed me even more was that you are teaching discipline along with education.
But after seeing the content presented during the Annual Day function, I finally understood, Sir. You have actually begun a great Yajna—a meaningful mission.
I am not exaggerating at all. I genuinely mean it. You have taken up the responsibility of guiding generations and generations of children in the right direction through strong values.
The saying "Acharya Devo Bhava" truly comes to mind when I see the genuine love and concern you have for children.
You also made us understand that if we really want our children to follow the right path, parents must also maintain discipline in their own lives. Only then can the process of shaping children truly succeed. I could see how passionately you are working toward that goal.
Hats off to you, Sir!
Usually, when we hear "Annual Day celebration," we imagine children dancing to four popular movie songs. And I say this as someone from the film industry myself—these days, many functions are conducted without even considering whether the lyrics contain inappropriate or vulgar content.
But you chose to present such a meaningful story about parenting, invited parents, made us sit together, and courageously shared your perspective with us. That is definitely not an easy thing to do.
I also loved the way you began by motivating us not to become discouraged by our failures. That was a beautiful and powerful message.
And yes, Sir—you are a wonderful writer too!
The truly great thing is that, in this diluted world, you are standing firmly for values, teaching those values to children, and achieving success through them. That genuinely surprised and inspired me.
At that moment, I could only think:
YOU CAME INTO THIS WORLD FOR A REASON.
Honestly, Sir, you are an inspiration to all of us as well.
Please continue your tremendous, wonderful, and meaningful journey.
As fellow human beings, we are with you.
You are truly amazing.
LOVE YOU, AMARNATH SIR! ❤️
Things that everyone must know. Please share with everyone. Otherwise the pharmacists will drink your blood !

If you don't send this message to ten people .. Here's your loss .. This is the struggle .. We keep seeing these types of messages.

The days when the "Gabbu Boss" show first began...
Some random loudmouth became the winner of that ridiculous show.
An Army, a Navy, and an Air Force were created in his name.
Fans... Chaos, chaos, chaos!
A TV channel guy called me for a discussion about this.
There are apparently huge numbers of "army members" of that loudmouth, speaking with such exaggerated heroism and bravado.
But I understood one thing very clearly.
There is no genuine affection. There is nothing like that.
They appeared out of nowhere.
They are nothing but money-collection gangs.
They stage dramas for publicity.
Publicity gangs.
They say whatever they are paid to say, and make others say whatever serves their purpose.
Controversy is his product.
Yes... that "superhero" who supposedly established an Army, Navy, and Air Force in his own name...
Where is that great hero now? What is he doing now?
"New heights! Historic victories! Greatest of all time!"
Now, an ordinary man has become the winner.
Ah... Oh!
Millions of gullible people start hoping:
"If an ordinary person like him can become a winner, maybe tomorrow we too will get a chance!"
That is the script.
That is the plan.
For a hundred crore problems, there are a thousand crore tricks.
For people like these, one booster dose would be enough to make the nuisance disappear.
Was there a poison experiment on Underworld Dawn?
Not confirmed yet but the news says the same.
Maybe it was a raw effect.
Raw does not mean drinking without mixing water.
Raw.. If someone says come and sends it up.. someone else.. one thing is true..
If you believe in violence, that person will die.
The truth that history has told millions of times.
This post is dedicated to those who enjoy watching animal movies.
Is It Over?
Someone posted on his Facebook timeline: "Corona-3 soon."
A Facebook friend commented there, "Sir... is it true?"
That is how I came across the post.
The fact is...
In our country, Omicron was called Corona-3.
And then, exactly around the same winter last year, came Corona-4.
Have you forgotten?
Some restrictions were imposed on New Year celebrations. Many people had coughs lasting for two or three weeks.
So, it isn't Corona-3 anymore.
Now it is Corona-5.
Like Madhuri Dixit's famous counting:
Ek... Do... Teen... Chaar... Paanch... Chhah... Saat... Aath... Nau... Das... Gyarah...
And for the rest of our lives, it will keep going—Corona-6, Corona-7, Corona-8...
It may continue for another hundred thousand years!
Everyone will eventually get infected.
You can wear a mask. You can hide inside your house. Sooner or later, it may still infect you.
Infection is its nature.
Being afraid of it is your choice.
"An unavoidable event need not be a cause for anxiety."
So don't obsess over it.
For most people, it is simply a cold, cough, or fever lasting a few days.
If you are extremely worried and develop a fever, take vitamins B, C and D, along with zinc tablets, for those few days.
Beyond that, there is no specific medicine that can simply eliminate the virus—and there probably never will be.
And if you are really fed up with life, go ahead and take all the booster doses you want!
But before taking them, at least look into the arrangements and the evidence surrounding them.
Someone commented on that post:
"My daughters living abroad have already taken the boosters. Oh God! They won't listen even if I tell them not to. One or two..."
Thousands of people have lived with Corona for years now. What else can we do except deal with it?
Then comes another sensational headline:
"Four people have been infected in Kerala!"
They use such news to revive fear about Corona.
Infected?
So what?
The truth often gets buried under fear.
Your fear is the pharmaceutical industry's business.
Corona may not kill you.
But fear can prevent you from living.

On the occasion of Slate Ameerpet annual day ( 17/12/23 ).
To the Respected Amarnath Sir,
My heartfelt greetings to you, Sir.
You had specifically asked us to watch the 17th Annual Day celebration at the Ameerpet branch, and because you told us to, I attended the program. Sir, honestly, until the program ended, I never once felt like getting up and leaving.
You provided truly excellent and valuable information to the parents, Sir.
I sincerely hope that every parent who listens to this initiative with an open heart will bring about a positive change in themselves.
Normally, when we watch a movie, the suspense keeps us completely engaged and makes us eager to know what happens next. In exactly the same way, the script you wrote kept us captivated and left us amazed, Sir.
Every child did complete justice to their respective role and brought their character to life. They made us laugh, and ultimately, they even brought tears to our eyes with their performances.
As parents, we are often worried about whether our children are listening to their lessons or not. But after watching such a wonderful program, we gained a new confidence that there is nothing our children cannot achieve.
The children truly performed exceptionally well. They acted wonderfully and delivered their dialogues so confidently.
Hats off to you, Sir!
You are second to none. You have no competition in the field of education.
Thank you, Sir, for imparting such valuable knowledge and wonderful values to the future generations.

Just the other day, you were in my lap, burdened by every kind of pain...
Today, you rest in the lap of Mother Earth...
Far removed from all hardships and suffering, in eternal peace...
Goodbye, Blackamma!

One must set aside personal pain and sorrow to perform one's duties!
Because work is worship.
Children need to be taught expressions, dialogue delivery, modulation, intonation, and diction!
There were two anniversary events on Sunday.
Immediately following that, there was the rehearsal for the 'Slate Ameerpet' event yesterday!

Prime Minister Modi has learnt Telugu.
Here’s a quiz for you!
A prominent leader in Delhi calls a party leader from Telangana, asking him to come to Delhi. (He summons him by name—specifically, using just a single letter.)
The Delhi leader utters just one Telugu consonant and hangs up the phone.
The leader on the other end understands the message and says, "Okay, sir."
Which is the Telugu alphabet used by the Delhi leader?
This isn't a political post; it's a Telugu test!
Are you suffering from pain during your period?
Here is what you should do:
2. Avoid junk food.
3. Eat plenty of fruits, leafy greens, and vegetables.
4. Do lower abdominal exercises (such as lying on the floor and slightly lifting both legs).
5. Use a heating pad during your period.
1. Poor, voiceless animals are reportedly suffering because their name was used for that movie; meanwhile, in a society where "human beasts" watch such films, revel in them, and turn them into super-hits-thereby risking a surge in even more horrific movies and a rise in violence and atrocities inspired by them...
2. In a world of gullible parents who believe videos sponsored by struggling EdTech companies-companies desperate for business that push the narrative that children don't need to go to school and that homeschooling suffices simply because parents are working from home...
3. In a world of naive people who believe the propaganda of multinational junk-food companies-companies that shift the blame onto milk to hide their own culpability when girls hit puberty at ten and suffer from conditions like thyroid issues and PCOS due to a diet heavy in junk food (pizzas, burgers, chips) and genetically modified crops (like American sweet corn and soy). {I am not claiming milk is perfectly pure; there are indeed issues with the milk available today. However, blaming milk for girls reaching puberty before even losing their milk teeth is akin to a thief shouting "Thief! Thief!" while pointing at someone else.}
4. In a world where some international schools in our country are introducing gender-neutral uniforms-mirroring the gender confusion prevalent in the US (where the "medical mafia" propagates the idea that men aren't men and women aren't women, dismissing traditional views as outdated and encouraging people to happily switch genders or undergo hormone therapy)-and where naive people believe this isn't a problem...
5. In a world where generations of civilization and the foundations of a decent society have been destroyed within just two years by web series, OTT platforms, YouTube, and-above all-the mobile phone in everyone's hand, yet people still don't see it as an issue...
6. In a society fast approaching the day when marijuana is cultivated in every backyard instead of the sacred Tulasi plant, under the guise that it has beneficial properties...
7. In a world where sons bring home "sons-in-law" and daughters bring home "daughters-in-law"; where people question the need for marriage-arguing that living together suffices, separation is easy, and marriage and family are merely "trash"-and where such narratives are used to brainwash the public...
This is the world we live in!
Shall we at least take the responsibility to create awareness among the people?
Shall we save our society and humanity?
Shall we put a stop to the unchecked excesses of the various mafias running rampant in the post-COVID era?
Starting at exactly 9:31 AM this Sunday (December 10) at Shilpakala Vedika, Shilparamam.
It will continue until 1:00 PM.

All the Intelligent People Live in America!
Oh, the brilliance of Americans! No beginning, no end to their intelligence!
Their ideas are never ordinary. Whenever we hear about their latest ideas, we should feel ashamed of ourselves—ashamed that we too were born as human beings!
Male, female, and transgender—that is what we have believed about gender all these years.
All that is apparently trash.
I told you in my earlier posts that the great Americans had discovered that there are 87 genders!
And now American intellectuals have discovered yet another revolutionary idea.
Until now, you and I knew only one kind of school.
That is our ignorance.
We are still living in the Stone Age!
In this age of Artificial Intelligence, Americans have already invented new types of schools—micro-schools, home schools, and several other varieties.
Whatever happens in the world, shouldn't we at least be aware of it?
An NRI friend sent me a message about these new types of schools. I forwarded it to our Slate group and asked at 8:39 p.m.:
"What do you think about these new-generation schools? Please share your opinions."
Our executives don't go to bed as early as I do. They kept replying to the message late into the night.
I, however, went to bed early.
I went to sleep thinking about home schooling.
When I woke up early the next morning, I saw all the replies from our executives. I have posted screenshots of them in the comments section.
But apparently, after I went to sleep, a few elders came to my house!
I asked them:
"What do you think about home schooling?"
Jayaprakash Reddy:
"What is this, America? What kind of intelligence is this? Home school? A school where the child stays at home all day? You white-skinned kings have really gone crazy! If the child stays at home all day, where will he develop social intelligence? Will he even know how to live with a wife when he grows up? What kind of brilliant idea is this, my lord?"
Suryakanthamma:
*"Oh, stop your nonsense, you crazy fellow! They say that too much education makes people lose whatever common sense they had!
If you raise a dog inside the house and suddenly leave it on the street, will it know how to survive?
If you keep a child at home and educate him there, how will he learn to live in society?
You've eaten too many American junk foods and become like this!
I'll send you some sesame laddus. Eat them and come to your senses. Don't keep showing us your so-called intelligence!"*
Sutti Veerabhadra Rao:
*"What a ridiculous idea! Home school? Home is home! School is school!
What's next? The toilet becomes the dining table and the dining table becomes the toilet?
Look at these people sitting on the toilet and eating pizza! Then they wipe their mouths with the same tissue paper they used for other purposes!
You'll all be ruined!
If you take a lion cub born and raised in a zoo and release it into the forest, will it know how to hunt and survive?
Within two days, it will starve to death.
School doesn't teach children only textbook lessons.
It teaches them how to interact with other children, how to understand people, and how to distinguish between what is good and what is bad.
That is called social intelligence.
If you keep a child sitting at home and educate him there, what will happen?
Will you turn him into Tarzan?
You fools!"*
Venu Madhav:
*"Wow! What a buildup!
All this buildup just to make a bad idea look like a great one!
Our children already depend too much on rote learning. Their heads are filled with nothing but mud!
Don't you even understand what a school is?"*
Shankara Shastri (Somayajulu):
*"Education is divine, whether it is Western or Indian.
The basic way children learn remains the same. They need social intelligence and emotional intelligence. Only then can they learn to live as responsible human beings.
If you keep children at home in the name of online education or home schooling, or send them to school only once or twice a week, they may fail to develop discipline, punctuality, and the ability to function in a group.
They may sit at home, become addicted to mobile phones, and gradually develop serious psychological and behavioral problems.
Ideas like these come from people who think, 'It doesn't matter what happens to human beings—as long as our business is doing well.'
If parents themselves are unable to distinguish between what is good and what is harmful, then thinking about the future of the coming generations is frightening."*
And those, apparently, were the opinions of the elders who visited my house that night!
So, what do you think?
For AP !

Even though I have been living in Hyderabad for many years, I have never entered the Assembly even once.
(Once, I went to the Jubilee Hall at the official invitation of the government to participate in a discussion.)
I have never entered the office of any political party even once.
(I did visit T News Live's office five or six times at their invitation for live discussions.)
I have never personally met any political leader.
(I have met Chief Ministers on two occasions during official programmes.)
I have been to the Secretariat only once.
(That was when Nedurumalli Rajyalakshmi was the Education Minister.)
Power... arrogance... attitude... sycophancy... none of these things can impress me.
I am someone who even gave up a PhD because I refused to bend for a "biscuit."
My students are now in high positions. Occasionally, they call me when they need something—but I never call them for my own needs.
(Just the other day, a senior official from Asifabad, who was once my student, called me regarding his daughter's education.)
The more humble I am, the stronger my self-respect is.
Yesterday, I posted the names of two people.
Some people might now think, "Perhaps Amarnath is going to start running around the Assembly."
That's why I am clarifying this.
(The two names I posted yesterday are only two among nearly a dozen people I know in such positions. So what? They have their work, and I have mine.)
Let me give you an example of what kind of person Amarnath is. You may not believe it. Some may even think I am trying to build myself up. No problem.
He is now a senior political leader, and people wait for hours just to get an appointment with him.
I blocked his number.
Why?
Because he would call me repeatedly, saying things like, "Give this child a seat... give that child a seat..." The children involved had all kinds of addictions and behavioural problems. If I admitted them, the headache would ultimately become mine.
There was another person who was a Minister at the time and has since passed away.
When I did not answer his calls despite several attempts, he put protocol aside and came to the school in his private vehicle.
He wasn't some ordinary person. He was a VIP.
But that is not the point.
This is the confidence of a teacher.
This is the courage that honesty gives you.
Cyclone rains in December will wreak havoc.
Heavy rains already in Chennai.
People of Tirupati Rajampet Nellore areas should be alert.

Heartfelt congratulations to my friend and Central University batchmate, 'Bhatti Mama' (Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka), on assuming the office of Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana!
Why are former IAS and IPS officers unable to succeed in politics?
Why are former IAS and IPS officers unable to establish and successfully run their own political parties, compete with the major parties, or even lead smaller parties that have limited influence in the region?
Once an officer rises to a senior position in the civil services, they naturally develop a distinct personality, confidence, and leadership qualities. At that stage, it becomes difficult for them to join an existing political party and function under the direction of another leader.
Call it individuality, self-respect, or even ego—the reality is that they are accustomed to taking decisions and exercising authority themselves.
In Telugu states, three leaders have followed this path.
I am not saying that they have failed, because political success can be measured in different ways, and ultimately, gaining political power itself is considered a form of success.
Whatever the case may be, I believe the trend of IAS and IPS officers entering active politics will gradually decline.
All three of them are personally known to me and are close to me. Please avoid making harsh or personal comments about them.
I mentioned that political posts would only appear today and not thereafter—specifically, one topic before the deadline.
There is a possibility that more than half of the winning candidates in Hyderabad city will be 'jump-jilanis' (turncoats).
Five days before polling, I posted this without making it obvious to anyone.
Does it make sense now?
Look at the numbers.
Wait, wait...
In the post I published immediately after polling ended, I clearly mentioned that the BJP had gained significant momentum in North Telangana during the final week.
I said that while I initially expected the BJP to win around three seats, it could end up winning eight, with the Congress losing roughly the same number of seats.
I also stated that the Congress could win a minimum of 65 seats and a maximum of 80 seats.
All those posts are still there.
Go back and check them for yourself.

Students and young people were the driving force behind the Telangana movement.
They are once again the driving force behind the political changes taking place today.
Heartfelt congratulations to my student, Medipally Satyam, who is set to be elected to the new Telangana Assembly from the student and youth community.
He is a former student of Osmania University and is set to become the MLA of Choppadandi.
Wishing him every success in his political journey.
Did you get it ?

2003!
At that time, our school had been established only two years earlier.
Our Annual Day function was being held at the Indira Priyadarshini Auditorium in the Public Gardens.
All of a sudden, the Principal called me onto the stage.
I was shocked.
But it was a matter of public courtesy. It would not have looked good if I had refused to go, so I went.
They began felicitating me.
Why was I being felicitated at my own school?
I was furious.
The felicitation ended, and I went home.
The next day, I suspended the Principal and three other people who had been involved in organizing that programme for a week.
Since then, even today, everyone in our school is afraid to praise me openly!
People who constantly lift you up will eventually bring you down.
They will never allow you to see reality as it truly is.
Politics is a complex game!
Money, power, caste, sentiment, media, publicity... there are so many factors involved.
And beyond all of these, there is one crucial factor — how people perceive and understand these things.
I analyze issues related to education, healthcare, economics, and history. So I asked myself: Can I correctly understand the election process taking place in the state? Can I understand how people are thinking? Can I truly grasp such a vast and complex subject?
I decided to put myself to the test.
I played a very fair game. (Whether it was truly fair or not, you can decide.) I did not say anything until the elections were over.
I did not want even two votes to shift in either direction because of my posts. I did not want to influence the election process even by the slightest amount.
So, only after polling was completed, I posted my assessment.
I collected information from at least twenty people — people who interact with the public every day in villages and towns, people who are not supporters or followers of any particular political party, senior officials, and others.
I compared and evaluated all that information, analyzed it, and then posted my assessment.
In yesterday's post, I provided an even deeper analysis.
Today, I have absolutely no tension about the election results.
I have no desire to see one particular party win or another party lose.
If my assessment turns out to be correct, I will not celebrate or take credit for it. The credit belongs to the friends who provided me with the ground-level information.
If my assessment turns out to be wrong, I will critically examine myself and try to understand where I went wrong.
You will not see political posts from me regularly anymore. (If I feel there is a strong need, perhaps one today and then another one sometime in the distant future.)
As usual, my posts will continue to focus on social and economic issues.
To be honest, I was somewhat hesitant to post about politics.
I thought about it more than once: “I have always remained an enemy to none. What if people misunderstand me unnecessarily?”
They say that betting worth ₹10,000 crore was taking place on the Telangana election results.
In such a disturbing situation, even though I had absolutely no financial benefit or personal interest in the outcome, I studied and analyzed the elections purely as an intellectual pursuit.
I have received appreciation for my analysis, particularly for yesterday's post about ego, from many respected and senior people as well.
Thank you all!

If exit polls are genuinely conducted, shouldn't their results at least be broadly similar?
Not just now-even for many years, exit polls have often been sitting on the fence, refusing to clearly predict the outcome. Why is that?
1. If the result is predicted clearly, how will betting take place? How many exit polls are sponsored by the betting mafia?
2. If the results are known clearly in advance, what suspense will remain until counting day? What content will the 24-hour news channels have?
3. If the election produces a wafer-thin majority, how will there be any scope for horse-trading?
Just asking.
Of course, differences between exit polls can also occur for legitimate methodological reasons-such as differences in booth selection, sample composition, weighting methods, turnout assumptions, and non-response. So different numbers do not automatically prove manipulation.
What happens when you hurt the ego?
In history, there was the medieval period—the feudal age.
Power was in the hands of kings and landlords. Ordinary people worked under them simply to make a living.
This was the situation across much of the world.
In those days, society was broadly divided into two classes:
-
The upper class — kings, landlords, and the ruling establishment.
-
The lower class — nearly 95% of the population, living as slaves, servants, tenants, and dependents.
There was hardly any significant middle class in those days.
The lower classes lived saying, “Baanchen… kaal mokkutha” and “Ji Huzoor.” They had no choice if they wanted to survive.
That was the order of that age.
In the modern era, the Industrial Revolution gave rise to—or, more precisely, strengthened—the middle class.
For the past four hundred years of human history, the middle class has been one of the major driving forces of change.
And what does the middle class value most?
Self-respect!
You may hit them in the stomach and they may tolerate it.
But hurt their ego, and they will not forgive you.
That is the middle class.
The French Revolution was driven in significant part by the aspirations and grievances of the emerging middle classes.
The American Revolution too was driven by the growing assertion of the colonists: “We have settled here. Why should our mother country, England, rule over us?”
Both revolutions demonstrated one important truth:
For the middle class, self-respect can matter more than material comfort.
Rulers rarely learn lessons from history. They often pay a heavy price before they do.
The Indian freedom movement was largely led by the educated middle class.
With the introduction of modern education in 1835, the Indian middle class began to grow.
Until then, many Indians thought, “The white rulers are educated. How can we possibly be their equals?”
In those days, signs saying “No dogs and Indians allowed” reportedly hung at the entrances of establishments controlled by the British.
There were exceptions, of course—people like Veera Pandya Kattabomman and Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy—but they were exceptions.
As more Indians became educated, a sense of self-respect began to develop.
The feeling that “Why should we be inferior to anyone?” gradually spread.
But educated Indians also realized that the British were unwilling to give them even the basic respect they deserved.
That became one of the factors behind the emergence of the Indian National Congress.
You may be wondering: “Didn't you say in an earlier post that the British encouraged the formation of the Congress as a safety valve? Then how can you say this now?”
Both can be true.
They had their reasons.
Our people had their own reasons.
That is the point.
Workers and farmers gradually joined the freedom movement, particularly during the 1920s and 1930s.
From then on, the middle class remained one of the major driving forces of the movement until the end.
The Telangana armed struggle against the exploitation of the Nizam's feudal system can also, broadly speaking, be viewed as a movement for self-respect.
N. T. Rama Rao's revolt against Congress rule, the formation of the Telugu Desam Party, and its subsequent victory are part of our more recent history.
“Telugu people's self-respect” was NTR's slogan.
The Telangana movement—both its first and second phases—was also deeply connected with the self-respect of the people of Telangana.
Water, jobs, funds—these issues were either secondary to self-respect or deeply connected with it.
So, dear rulers, that is a lesson from history.
We are now living in the age of the middle class.
You may exploit them.
You may even hurt them financially.
They may tolerate it.
But if you hurt their ego and make them feel that they have not been given the respect they deserve, they will not forgive you.
You may carry out enormous development.
You may introduce countless welfare schemes.
But if people feel that their dignity has been insulted, that is the end of the story.
That is the nature of this age.
And this applies not only to politics, but also to ordinary life.
Try insulting your domestic worker.
Even if you offer her an additional ₹1,000 in salary, she may refuse to return to work.
Our organization has around a thousand drivers, office assistants, domestic workers and other support staff.
When their salaries are paid on time, they are happy.
But years ago, when I arranged chairs for the women working as domestic staff in our schools so that they could sit during breaks, they were even happier.
When we hosted a meal for them and allowed them to take selfies with me, when I stood with my arm around the shoulders of our office assistants and drivers, they were thrilled.
When I personally served food to them, they would say, “Our sir!” with tears of happiness in their eyes.
Once, our administrative officer held a meeting with the women working as domestic staff.
She made all of them sit on the floor while she sat on a chair with one leg crossed over the other and spoke to them.
When I saw that photograph, I gave her a serious reprimand and suspended her for four days.
Our people work as hotel waiters and gas-station assistants in countries such as America and Canada.
But many such jobs are looked down upon in our society.
Why?
Because our society still has far too many people who think that those who work for them are inferior.
Respect your fellow human being.
You did not drop directly from heaven.
A leader who rose to power using the slogan of self-respect—and the people around that leader—must not display feudal attitudes or deny ordinary people the respect they deserve.
Otherwise, no matter how many benefits you provide, no matter how many welfare schemes you introduce, and no matter how much development you deliver, it is like multiplying a number by zero.
People will oppose you with anger.
That is what is happening in current affairs today.
If you don't understand it, wait and watch.
Dear rulers, in governance, let the people win.
Suppress those who deliberately create conspiracies and artificial movements.
There is nothing wrong with that.
But allow people to speak about their genuine problems.
Allow reasonable levels of public protest.
Such protests act like a pressure valve for the dissatisfaction building up inside society.
If there is no designated place for protests, that frustration can spill over into hundreds of villages.
When people have a strong and genuine aspiration, leaders should sometimes take one step back.
A true leader knows where to compromise and where to stand firm.
What if there had been no Bashirbagh incident?
What if electricity charges had been reduced to some extent and the growing public dissatisfaction had been acknowledged?
What if, when unemployed youth came onto the roads demanding job notifications, people had not been portrayed as anti-public merely because traffic was disrupted?
What if, instead of focusing only on DSC recruitment, Group notifications had also been issued?
History might have taken a different course.
Would it?
Wouldn't it?
If you follow the advice of some so-called intellectual who has little understanding of history—“Never yield to public movements, because if you give in once, movements will keep coming”—what happens?
What happens when you try to defeat the people?
Let the people win.
The people's victory is your victory.
One more thing.
Even great kings would sometimes disguise themselves and go among the people to understand what they really thought about their rule.
In times when elections did not exist, rulers even placed a “bell of justice” outside palace walls so that ordinary people could seek justice.
Even in relatively recent history, there was a leader who made his camp office a place where ordinary people could come and meet him.
That is one reason people came to love him so deeply.
Every individual has both positive and negative qualities.
So do human beings.
So do institutions.
So do rulers.
So do leaders.
We must all engage in self-criticism.
Recognize our mistakes and change.
Learn from goodness wherever we find it.
Above all, learn the lessons taught by time.
Learn the lessons taught by history.
Kings may come.
Kingdoms may rise.
They may attain great heights of glory.
But none of them can carry their wealth with them when they leave this earth.
What remains is their name—the legacy they leave behind through their deeds.
That is the lesson history keeps teaching us.
A side of my life that none of you know about!
Here is my bedroom.
Five days ago, I suddenly woke up at around 2 a.m. and immediately thought of our Blackamma (Blackie).
She had not been keeping well for nearly twenty days.
She used to sleep beside me every night. But for the past twenty days, she had been sleeping in the other bedroom with her mother—my wife. My wife has been completely occupied at night taking care of our three-month-old grandson, so they have been sleeping separately.
Blackie has liver and gallbladder problems.
Poor thing has been groaning in pain, hardly eating, and has become very weak. We have been giving her the medicines prescribed by the doctor.
When I woke up at 2 a.m., I suddenly had a strong feeling that Blackie might not have many days left.
Here, in my bedroom, Venki stands proudly on one side and the other.
Every morning when I wake up and see Venki, I ask him just one thing:
“Swami, please make sure today is a happy day.”
But when I woke up at 2 a.m. that night, I told him:
“This is too much, Swami!
Whenever I have asked you for something, you have behaved like a hard-hearted man.
In 2005, I begged you to save Rithika. You made me suffer the pain of losing a child.
Last year, I pleaded with you to save Jassi. Once again, you behaved like a sadist.
At least now, please let Blackie live for another three years.”
Today, after nearly twenty days, Blackie ate a good meal.
She loves eating cucumber with me.
Today she was cheerful and energetic.
If our Blackamma survives, that itself is a festival for us.
Usha is just as crazy about her as I am.
A little while ago, she happily called me and gave me the wonderful news:
“Blackie is doing well today!”
For us, that is more than enough to make the whole day a celebration.

It is my personal opinion that the Congress party should win.
This gentleman commented on my post, claiming that I had presented my personal opinion as though it were the opinion of the people.
In the past too, some people made similar comments about me regarding vaccines. They claimed that I hated vaccines and that I was therefore spreading hatred against them.
Even after I clearly said that politics is a cesspool, do people like this still fail to understand the point?
How much clearer can I make it?

Has the era of “social media stars” in politics begun?
First, let me make one thing clear.
This is only my prediction, not my opinion or preference.
In Kollapur, Barrelakka may secure around 15,000–20,000 votes. But she will lose.
Jupally Krishna Rao will win there. (Before entering politics, he was known as J.K. Rao. Later, he became Jupally Krishna Rao. I knew him as J.K. Rao in those days.)
As an ordinary person contesting an election, Barrelakka has already achieved a victory of sorts. She raised an issue and brought it into the public spotlight. This is likely to encourage many more people to come forward in the future.
Contesting elections also gives social media stars additional publicity.
Their reels and videos get more views.
In the coming days, even major political parties may give tickets to one or two social media stars and use them extensively for campaigning across the state.
There will be both advantages and disadvantages to this.
Some may raise genuine social issues, like Barrelakka.
At the same time, people like “Dubai Papa” and “Tarnaka Paalu” may also enter the political arena. In fact, such people are already being used to abuse and attack political opponents.
Paalu is already providing entertainment in politics and increasing the views of television channels.
Just imagine what political campaigns might look like when social media stars become an integral part of them in the coming days.
Rao Gopal Rao once said, “After all, a human being should have at least a little appreciation for art and entertainment.”
The social media era + a generation addicted to smartphones...
Now, just watch what happens!
